My watercolor paintings are an expression of what I enjoy around me. I am always thinking about light and how it moves over, through, and around my subject matter. Light creates interesting geometric shapes and shadow forms. Nature supplies endless ideas for my paintings. I also enjoy setting up still life's and creating a story through them. The free flow of Watercolor paint is an exciting challenge for me. With the use of vigorous strokes and a wide palette of color, I can express energy, emotion, and movement in my watercolor paintings. I paint directly without sketching or outlining my subject matter before applying paint to paper. When I create a series of paintings, the initial paintings are more realistic in the beginning gradually becoming more essential and abstract towards the end of the series.

My formal training was at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. After graduating with honors, I worked for Lippencott and Margulies  Industrial  Design in New York. Many of my evenings were spent studying watercolor painting with Mario Cooper at the Arts Student League in Manhattan.

My works have been in major exhibits and invitational shows including  The University of Wisconsin, River Falls;  Federal  Reserve Bank of Minnesota; The Murphy Gallery at St. Katherine's University in St. Paul; Solo shows at Lutheran Brotherhood Art Gallery, Minneapolis, Hamlin University , St.Paul,Mn., Rochester Art Center, Rochester Mn. I was awarded a prestigious  Jerome Art Grant in Minnesota. I have had three solo shows and participated in many group shows in Serenbe in Chatt. Hills,GA.
